Hmm…… about me? Well, my name is Darren, I’m 37 (mental age of about 21! I refuse to let age dictate how I should act and I’ll defy it kicking and screaming if I have to). Anyone who knows me will know my number one passion in life is playing and listening to music.
My main instrument is guitar but I have been known to make a noise on drums, bass and violin as well as other random instruments, but not all at the same time (now that would be clever).
I am currently in two bands, Skint (www.skintrock.com) and Nemesis (see my top friends) and I also do the odd solo acoustic gig now and then.
I love drinking tea by the bucket load but have a low tolerance to alcohol, three pints and I’m anyone’s, four pints and I’m everyone’s, and if I actually do manage to consume that much I’ll probably fall asleep.
I absolutely love thunderstorms and if I’m not busy doing something when one comes in, I’ll head for the beach to watch it. Sitting in a car with lightning crashing down around you is such a rush.
Autumn is my favourite season; the colours it produces are amazing. Saying that, I do enjoy being outside with friends on a hot summers evening having a drink and a barbeque.
I usually stay up far too late for my own good considering I start work at stupid o’clock in the morning and if it’s a clear night I’ll often go outside and look up at the stars. It also helps living in a dark area with not much light pollution, you get to see so much more and there’s a bloody lot to see! I urge you to go somewhere really dark on a moonless night and look up, it’s breath taking.
Last but by no means least I love my last remaining cat Merlin, Loki and Gandalf couldn’t resist crossing a busy road a short distance from their home. They had loads of space in the other direction to go and play, but I guess it must have been more interesting across the road? I miss them both so much :(
