Man, it‘s like I’m already signed â€, he says, with a laugh. Me-Eazie (born Kevin Hill Jr.), 18, started rapping for fun in 11th grade. One of his influences, a local rapper named Simon says, encouraged him to keep working on his writing. “I would write. But I wasn‘t that good, so I just kept a lot of what I did to myself,†Me-Eazie says. An epiphany based realization came to him one night while working on music with his friend Flip. He fondly recalls, “ We were up ‘til six in the morning rapping on a tape recorder with a beat playing in the background. I realized I love this and I can do this.†After many nights like this one, Me-Eazie steadily gained enough confidence to share his talent, his now almost cocky swagger making up for lost time. With an attitude this confident, it’s easy to envision Me-Eazie’s success. Yet, with hopes so high, Me-Eazie is also aware of the failure that can lurk in the valley for young rap artists. Taking every possibility in a seemingly effortless stride Me-Eazie is cool, calm, and relaxed. “No stress,†he says. This zen-inspired attitude can be attributed to the support of his mother. “Man, mom has been a supporter from the beginning,†he says. “When she first heard me rap, it was a rap I did for Rahn G’s voicemail. She had my whole family calling just to hear it. They kept calling Rahn G’s phone non-stop.†Me-Eazie plans to work on his rap skills and build a career post high school. He plans on beginning his education at Santa Monica College in order to gain more knowledge of the music industry. “ I want to understand and be a part of the entire process, not just recording,†he says. Me-Eazie aspires to be a participant in all areas of the hip-hop meets business lifestyle. Hoping to follow in the footsteps of music moguls such as Diddy and Jay-Z, Me-Eazie plans on being the CEO of his own label, CEO of an entertainment company and own a few NBA teams. Me-Eazie, a fan of the televison show TMZ says, “ I’m studying up for the future, because I’m going to be one of them.†By one of them he means a star, but at the same time Me-Eazie still strives to be himself within the music. Me-Eazie’s music reflects real-life. “ I want to keep the truth in my music and write about some stuff I’m going through,†he says. “That’s why I had to take the shooting and stuff out, that’s not me and never has been. I can get on that tip if it comes down to it but its not a everyday thing where you would see a 'nigga' like me in da streets gunning people down.†The situations that Me-Eazie raps about our universal and appealing to everyone. He has mastered many styles and forms of rap. “Famouz Stars music catches your ear right away. Listen and you may become a fan,†he teasingly warns. Me-Eazie pauses in retrospective, thinking about his past and considering his future. “I want this dream: the fame, the stardom,†he says. “ I want it all and I’m going to get it.â€
