So, you wanna know how we got started?
After meeting in preschool through their mutual friend Brendon Urie, AB and Xtina became BFFs sharing animal crackers during story time. Soon enough Brendon went off & became all kinds of famous leaving AB & Xtina behind. 'He taught me how to apply eyeliner,' Xtina reminisces. 'Oh well. More animal crackers for us,' AB adds.
One day while attending a super scene hardcore show at the Emerson Theatre in Indianapolis, AB ran into her good old friend Ryan Cabrera. Frightened by his hair, she ran out into the lobby and came across a flyer. The ad was seeking a lead singer. Being ever so rambunctious, AB called the number immediately and spoke to the gentleman who answered. He asked her a bunch of questions like he was Regis Philbin on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. 'I just kept thinking What? Is this fucking 20 questions?!' AB remembers fondly. Then the man asked the almighty question -- What bands have been in previously? Besides an experimental rap band called JackAnna, she had nothing. 'I figured I could just make shit up. What does this dude know?' AB laughs. 'Then I looked up and saw the sign...' Ace of Base cliches aside, it truly opened up her eyes... The words A CARING DENTIST were emblazoned in her mind. She immediately hung up on the man & ran back into the Theatre to find Xtina to tell her her brilliant idea. And on February 9, 2006, A Caring Dentist was born.
AB & Xtina ventured off continuing to attend shows across the country. Kicking names & taking asses, basically. It was in these adventures that they ran into HO standing outside of a little place in Columbus, Ohio called 'The Basement'. This crazy HO was huddling around a fire-filled trash can trying to stay warm while praising a homemade shrine of Jim Tressel. 'We saw the Tressel shrine & knew she was perfect for our band,' Xtina says.
Since that day they've had their share of ups and downs. With upcoming tours, video shoots, album releases, and a whole buttload of rad peeps backing & promoting them, A Caring Dentist is set to take over the world while keeping it real & brushing daily! :]
