Let's Do the Monster Mash!2008 Seattle Half-Marathon
Ehrickson, Shannon and I agreed two months ago to have this as an achievement for 2008 as this was the longest run any of have participated in! With a tight schedule for training along with work and holiday food, we all had one goal... To cross that finish line! The Sunday after Thanksgiving provided perfect weather for the run and we enjoyed it along with 15,000 other participants! We can't wait for the New Year's run and our next half-marathon, maybe a complete marathon???

On August 31st, 2008 at 7pm I ran with thousands of others in Vancouver, BC in a 10K that we shall never forget! Millions of runners world wide joined and ran over 4,942,000 kilometers!!! My team conquered all 1,311 steps on Sunday, March 16th, 2008. It was a grand event and a challenging one at that! Results are in and now we have something to beat next year!
But the ultimate goal of course is to raise funds for research in advancing medicinal procedures for blood cancer. The Goal of raising over $1,000,000 was reached!!! Thanks to all those that helped out!
Road Runner Sports Resolution Run 5K
So have you thought about Your New Year's Resolutions? I took action by participating in 2008's 5K run ending with a polar bear dive! Crazy! I know!
This race began a little after 10:30am on Tuesday, January 1st at Magnuson Park in Seattle near U-Village. I paced myself with Ehrick to help motivate him to finish with an ailing knee. Unfortunately no one told me to bring a towel, let alone a change of clothes! I did not catch pneumonia however I am living with a head cold. The water wasn't as cold as I thought it would be. It was the after effect of standing in line for chili in wet clothes that made me COLD! No joke, Ehrick witness and got some humor from me shaking and barely able to feed myself and spill hot chocolate on me because of my shivers. I will be better prepared next year! Until then, enjoy the slideshow of the run!
