Quianne

About Me

“She has an innocence and purity of sound that brings to mind what an angel might sound like, Confidence that allows her to admit wrongs, and move on, lyrics and melodies that penetrate your soul with an edge sharp enough to touch the fellas, honesty that is rare but necessary, humility that reminds us that we are all human, looks that could bring any man to his knees, and she even gives “Jlo” a run for her money if you know what I mean!” -Glenn Ellis Of The Soul SearchersLike so many before her, Quianne Perrin is a product of the musical training grounds that is the Black Church. Growing up Quianne’s father pastored a church in the Washington, DC metro area however, unlike most PK’s (pastors kids) Quianne wasn’t feeling the Sunday morning, hymn shouting, foot stomping, choirgirl image. Instead, Ms. Thang soaked in the soul from the sidelines. Quianne’s lyrical voice is set apart from her musical peers because of her personal experiences that translate into a world that no one else is capable of sharing and that is the world of “Quianne”. In 2000, Quianne relocated to Los Angeles, CA enrolled in school at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA and quickly forged her way into the L.A music scene. In less than a year after relocating to L.A the focused Hollywood newcomer was signed to Universal Records and busy working on her first album. Unfortunately Soulwerkz went bankrupt in 2002 prior to her releasing an album. This was a minor setback for the blossoming Songstress and soon enough her make it happen attitude kicked in and prompted her to release her album, on her own label “The Urban Music Department”.This instantly classic album takes you on a melodically beautiful, and lyrically honest ride. The nostalgic tracks are centered around hard drivin Hip-Hop beats. On the album Quianne touches on the ups and downs life deals on “Good days” or issues females deal with in this new age of independence and age old neglect, in “female Soldiers”, or loyalty and forgiveness in “Right There.” The album features tracks from one of Chocolate City’s hidden treasures “Mack, “ newcomer heatseaker “Coltrane”, and the Ultra Soulful Super Producer “Kanye West”. From Just Listening to the words and the voice, it is very apparent that Quianne definitely has “The Whole Package” and then some.
