Quite nice visuals by Kat and Jas

About Me

In search of the perfect venue... non-smoking, big screens, really good projectors, lots of time for tech-checking, a whole table for our gear, a rider with cocktails for the VJs... Ooh, hang on... that sounds like the Llama Bar!.... You'll often find us in the VJ booth there on a Saturday night.
We're worth asking about Perth venues, AV hire companies etc... we know which ones are projection-friendly, which ones treat artists respectfully, who has the best tech staff and all that kinda thing, since we've worked with a lot of different artists, venues and AV companies over these past few years.
See website VJzoo.com for more videos, wallpapers, bio etc. Ask us for a DVD Showreel if you're considering booking us to do visuals at your events. Our work looks a lot better without web compression :D
We work with a wide variety of musicians and DJs and love the opportunity to work collaboratively with musicians rather than just turning up to a gig and jamming along with whatever happens to be playing (although that can be fun too...). Developing a relationship between the music and visuals is our greatest pleasure as VJs, hence we don't just accept any booking - we will only take a project on if we feel we can really bring something unique to the event.
As well as being Perth's busiest VJ's, we also run Plug n Play Perth at Luxe Bar, where VJs and would-be VJs can come along and jam with some of Perth's best electronica artists and DJs in a small, intimate no-pressure environment. And yes, cocktails! Probably the best in the west, in fact.
In case you or anyone you know might be interested, we've just uploaded the manual from our Painting With Light workshops. Basically it's a 30 page introduction manual to PC-based VJing using Resolume and covers making loops and other basic, introductory VJing issues. You can download it free for personal use.
Also, we've uploaded a few more sets of free VJ Loops. They're all fairly dull, abstract, textural elements to use with other things - but hey, they're free and formatted ready for VJ-use.
It's all linked off VJzoo.com
Kat is also the artist/author of Golden Tarot , we're running a little digital festival in December called Byte Me! and we're currently developing content for mobile phones and the like - our interests are pretty varied as you may have gathered.
We did a fun VJ remix for Swiss musician Yves Larock for his hit Zookey.

Chrism and Fenris played at our PnP with their Commodore 64s while we used vintage Fairlight CVIs. It was a lot of fun.

We've been doing more corporate work lately, like this video installation for the WABAPA Awards at the Art Gallery of Western Australia. The video-painting is ours, the text animation is by Neill Gladwin and the music is Audio Cephlon. At these corporate gigs, we still get given complete artistic freedom, but the conditions are brilliant - just about everything on my wish list! Except for the cocktails, but then you can't have everything. Meh....

Performance at Lux06 VJ and Video Art Festival in Sevilla, Spain. Incredible venue - a centuries-old monastery converted for use as the Andalusian Centre for Contemporary Arts. For more videos, gigs etc see our website VJzoo.com
