Jennifer Cooke

Jennifer Cooke is 22 years old and is born and raised in Amsterdam The Netherlands. Her mother is Gambian and her Father Surinamese. When she was a little child Jennifer already knew she wanted to be a singer, and with that statement she is going on till today.When Jennifer was only 12 years old she attended a dance school that is called funkomatic dance studio’s. She trained and preformed hard in the 6 years that would follow a lot for different artist national and international. She and her dance crew opened shows for big artist like Ja Rule and Dru Hill and also a lot of background dancing for some known artist in The Netherlands. Between all the dancing Jennifer had only one thing on mind and that was developing herself in the music industry .Next to dancing, Jennifer was busy with a lot of networking, Trying to find people who could believe in her and support her. True the connections that she made she had the chance to sing back up vocals and do collaborations with some rap groups in the Netherlands. True a collaboration with a rap group she came to know Vincent Reid (producer zero31musiq) He was impressed by her talents and wanted to work with her. Till today Jennifer is working with Vincent Reid and he and his partner producer Guillermo Frankel work together under the name of zero31musiq. They support her with music/beats. At the moment Jennifer is working hard on her solo career together with a talented producer based in The Netherlands/lelystad named Joveek.Jennifer came to Gambia in January 2005 for music promotion. She did TV, radio and paper appearances and preformed in a lot of places in the Gambia for promotion. Her biggest performance in The Gambia was opening the show for Yous N’dour in The Gambian International soccer stadium. She has great support from Lamin Manga (Music promoter and manager) who always stuck by her side ever since she wanted to do something in The Gambia he always believed in her and still does. Jennifer hase been doing lots of callabos with artist in The Netherlands but in her trip to Gambia she hooked op with Hakim(Motown producer US/Konvikt)he produces for Akon, India Arie enc and of course Jennifer Cooke.Jennifer was the leading role in the video of the famous rapper Negativ in the Netherlands she was also starring in a video for charity with various artist '' Geef mij je hand'' for the flooding that happend last year in Surinam.I have always believed in myself and have always been a hard worker at such a Jung age. I believe that If you really want something you can have It, But just work hard to get It or else thinks wont get easer. I’m proud of where I come from (The Gambia) and I’m happy that people responded that well in January when I was In Gambia for music promotion. I hope you all will keep on supporting me, And I’ll keep on doing my best to represent my people. Jennifer was nominated for most outstanding female overseas artist for the Gambian talent awards 2008!January 2008 Jennifer Cooke left for Suriname/South-America to promote herself. She gave radio interviews and dropped two singles ''one way street and all about that'' both songs are doing good in the charts of Surinam.Right now Jennifer Cooke just released her first official single thats called ''you got It goin' on'' released by On Tha Floor Music.
