Matthew Carr comes from the Ebbw valley, South Wales. In his teens, he played in a punk band and made a racket. When that was done, he migrated to West Wales coastal town Aberystwyth, a move that lasted 4 years during which he fronted a folk band. Packing up and moving on in 2002, he settled 4 years in Paris, and during this period released music on indie label Waterhouse Records. He left Paris in winter 06, and touched down in Chicago IL. 6 months of US shows followed, from the banks of the Mendota, Wisconsin to the CAU Chicago studios and the BBC Britbus Tour.
Presently he fronts Cardiff Folkpunk outfit Speeder. His favourite food is Chicken Dhansak and chips, enjoys snorkeling and concerns himself with Sheffield United much of the time...
