The music of the french trio Figurines is defined as Free-rock. it is based on contemporary written jazz parts and rock improvisations. The three musicians first met during improvised music performances. they immediately turned up to be in harmony, leading them to confront their personnal experiences in an attempt to create a technically rich and emotionally strong music.Coherence of the band prevails in the written parts of their work, while in the improvised sections, they aim to keep an individual freedom of expression. thus creating a homogeneous music, that each of the musicians can enrich in an individual way.

Aurelien Besnard - French clarinet player. free lance musician. Play all type of clarinet from short Eb to contrabass. Play contemporary jazz and improvised music. Leader of several bands ( Contrabande , Figurines , A distance , Sap(e) ), plays also with many European, US and Canadian musicians in many different styles on stage and for recordings ( Sylvain Chauveau , les Acrobates, INfused, Absinthe provisoire , duet with Patrice Soletti, Denis Fournier, Jean-Pierre Jullian, Jean Moriere, Barre Phillips, Lionel Garcin, Eric Chalan, Remi Charmasson, Paul Kikuchi, Steven Hess, Francis Rossignol, HIATUS...).
