I'm in my 50's, married to a wonderful man who was born and raised on Lana'i island (Hawaii). I have four grown children from my first marriage, and my husband has 2 grown children from his first marriage. We have 3 grandsons. I'm a crafter, enjoying quilting, crocheting, and beading. I'm a charter member of the Conejo Valley Quilters, a quilt guild in Thousand Oaks, CA, and have served on the board and on the quilt show committee.I also joined a traditional hula halau and dance hula and perform with my halau at Hawaiian events around southern California. (I know I'm very blond for hula, but I have an aloha spirit!) In 2008, 14 of us hula sisters went to Hilo to watch the Merrie Monarch Hula Festival. We didn't compete (though there are a number of mainland Halau's that do), but we did dance at different events around Hilo with Uncle Lincoln Kaio - at the Naniloa Hotel, at Prince Kuhio shopping mall, and at Kalakaua park. I love the grace and expression of hula!
