My Interests

I like watching and playing baseball and football (and fantasy baseball and football). Watching movies, TV shows, and anything else that seems like good entertainment. Writing. Reading. Playing with my dogs, Sadie and Clio. Playing with my two-and-a-half-year-old nephew, Clayton. Hanging out with my friends.

I'd like to meet:

People who can keep me interested for more than three seconds, of which there are hopelessly few. People who can have a conversation about deep topics. The love of my life would be nice too, but I'm not going to wait for her.

Music:

Dream Theater - "Lie"
Machine Head - "Now I Lay Thee Down"
Symphony X - "The Serpent's Kiss"
Pantera - "I'm Broken"
Into Eternity - "Severe Emotional Distress"
Dimmu Borgir - "The Serpentine Offering"

Movies:

I'll watch anything that looks good, honestly, regardless of the genre. I prefer scary movies more than anything. My all-time favorite movies are:1) Terminator 2: Judgment Day 2) Saving Private Ryan 3) Braveheart 4) The Matrix 5) Batman. My two favorite scary movies are The Ring and John Carpenter's The Thing.

Television:

Let me just run down the list of all the season passes I have on the three TiVos I own... The Shield, 24, Lost, Rescue Me, Battlestar Galactica, House, Supernatural, Friday Night Lights, Dexter, Psych, Chuck, C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation, Without a Trace, Heroes, Reaper, Pushing Daisies, Smallville, Nip/Tuck, My Name Is Earl, Brotherhood, C.S.I.: NY, Desperate Housewives, C.S.I.: Miami, Prison Break, Frank TV, Scrubs, Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.Other TV shows I watched when they were on: The 4400, Alias, Angel, Arrested Development, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Deadwood, Gilmore Girls, Oz, Sleeper Cell, Tales From the Crypt, Veronica Mars, The Wire, The X-Files.

Books:

I don't read many novels these days, but if I do, it tends to be whatever the newest Stephen King book is. Besides novels, I used to be an avid comic book collector (I've sold off about 6,000 comics and still have about 4,600 left) and I mostly read trade paperbacks now. My favorite titles when I read where Y: The Last Man, The Walking Dead, and Fables. Two of my all-time favorite comic books are Preacher and Astro City.

Heroes:

I have to give props here to my closest friends from a few years ago: Kottmeyer, Ybarra, Jody, and Phil. You guys were there for me during the worst part of my life and I'll probably never be able to make it up to you other than remaining a close, loyal friend and being there for you when you need me. You guys took my mind off things and made me realize there's more to life than wallowing in my own sorrow. I will be forever grateful. Special mention goes out to Beau and Rick... You are the guys responsible for helping me get this story idea down on paper I had in my head for fourteen years. It has finally been turned into a tangible thing, 136 pages of story (and that's just part one of three). You've given me the inspiration to show that there are people out there really interested in my ideas. My eternal thanks to you. And finally, for my favorite girl in the world (you know who you are): although you don't want to take any credit, you have been an inspiration and a role model for me and you deserve all the credit I give you. I'm glad we're friends and I'm thankful that you're a part of my life on a daily basis. I love you very much!
