MR. FRIENDLY consisted of an all-original, eccentric rock/metal vision; raw and untainted- Tom Tarbell on drums; and Dean Ortiz on lead guitar and lead vocals(when no one else would) and Collin Mulvaney on bass- based out of Denver, CO. Although Tom had to quit playing with us, MR. FRIENDLY still lives on in cyberspace through Dean.
This all began as 2 simple musicians (Dean and Tom) playing original music together. We did not settle for just jamming. In June 2005,we recuited bassist Jeff Anderson to form MR. FRIENDLY-the first incarnation. Dean quickly wrote material for the band and we started playing at local clubs in Setember 2005.We recorded our first full-length CD entitled "Forgotten Wars" in March of 2006; and is still available thru Dean-via email-at [email protected]. In September 2006, bassist Jeff Anderson left the band for personal reasons.MR. FRIENDLY, never idle, remained focused on it's true vision and expanded out to new players. We welcomed our new bassist COLLIN M. to the fold in December 2006.Collin brought exciting new possibilities,exceptional musicianship, and a fresh outlook to MR. FRIENDLY!!! In April 2007 we joined with Illumina Records to publish and release the song "FORGOTTEN WARS" on the the cd "Denver Rockers for Life" nationwide; all the proceeds go to stopping drunk driving deaths in the US.
