Rashamon

About Me

Right...Rashamon have been going as a unit since 2000, originally under the monniker Stendec but that had to be changed due to the Static Caravan outfit of the same name (what are the odds on getting so many successive duplications in the music world - apparently theres already a graphic artist called Rashamon and it was a deliberate mispelling in the first place!!). The main muso behind the name is meself, mr lee hume. Born in Hastings and raised in the miserable 'nothing ever happens except shit' town of Bexhill, before he fled to London, got married, went travelling, moved to Brighton, split up, stayed in Brighton etc etc.... The Rashamon name was appropriated from Lee's unofficial brother and oldest school friend Seb Wyatt, who was not really using it and so didn't mind so much. Seb contributes not only to the guitar loops on a lot of the tracks but also appears at many of the gigs doing a full on live guitar loop cacophany that only sometimes can he hear. Rashamon had a single out on Highpoint Lowlife and it was rather fine. Lee then put an album together on his own Passive-Aggressive label and has a few boxes to shift as he has no comprehension of the word 'promotion'. The album is rather fine too. Live, Rashamon strive to have a very good time and to recreate and explore the created tracks in a myriad of new ways. Lee plans to keep the set list different each time but that probably won't work in the long term. Current plans are to keep on gigging and work on some new tour de forces of tunes for a forthcoming very long ep.
