Get this layoutDJ LADY TRIBE I was Raised in Los Angeles, i am mexican and asian, and immersed in the culturally diverse mecca of underground graffiti artists and muralists from a very young age. It was there that I first picked up a mean streak and wrote my name on a wall: realizing a passion and obsession that would consume my life for the next 9 years. I began my artistic feats at the ripe age of 13, presenting my art in various forms all over the city. Beginning with simple tags on the interior of local busses, i soon found myself addicted to the notoriety that came with my small five-letter posts, as well as the respect that came from my fellow artists. Eventually, I began endeavors that even my male counterparts would never attempt. I would hang off of busy freeway overpasses, bombard moving busses, and climb the tallest billboards, all for the sake of my art. It wouldnít take long to realize that i wasnít just a name that i wrote, it became my purpose in life. A spray can became as familiar as a pen or pencil in my hand, and without my art tools I felt empty. My art would be an escape from the grind of daily life, a freedom of expression, and my claim to fame. Unfortunately, it would all come at a price. i drew as many enemies as i did comrades. People who were jealous of my fame, wanted my name, or just didnít want to accept that a 5í2î female was doing murals in places they didnít think of first. Not to mention the police department, who wanted to take away my first amendment right, and did so, fast and furiously, during an early morning raid on my familyís home. Despite all the hardships and conflict, i will never hesitate to say it was all worth it. Even though i has surpassed all my initial dreams of being a known Los Angeles graffiti artist, i continues the passion that began so many years ago as one of the youngest, hottest female D.J.'s in the fierce Los Angeles nightclub scene, im coming up the ranks in this male dominated profession. my experience includes pumping up the crowd at some of the hottest clubs in Los Angeles and also spins at different cities and states. Most recently Fox news heard about me and aired a story about me and my life. i have been in been featured in national TV Shows, major magazines, music videos and major motion pictures. i came out with two mixed cdís and continues making more to come. my graff has earned my nation-wide recognition and is taking me experience of hip-hop from that scene i have put that same drive and passion towards my turntables. im not just a pretty face im a woman with skill and ambition to make it to the top.
