The more I see/The less I believe

About Me

My name actually starts with a D, but Ð looks funny. After four years as an infantry-thingy in the Marine Corps and three months of street-sweeping in Las Vegas, I've moved to bucolic Tulsa, OK, where everything is cheaper, most people still love George W., and the police have nothing better to do than get fat and wear Farva-esque equine-footwear-shaped haircuts.Currently I am studying to be a dental assistant for the Air National Guard. I spend most evenings contemplating the sacrifices I am making in order to preserve the liberties of my fellow countrymen--the room service, TV's, and plush carpeting that come with my barracks room, for example. It's a hard life, but I know it is worth it.I'm happily married with three furry/stunted children, two of whom are black. (I think it was the postman.) I used to rent one of my apartment's bedrooms out to a chinchilla named Ultra Pee Pee, but we had a falling out and I evicted him. Ultra Pee Pee has since moved in with Rev. Fred Phelps, his sister, and their twenty-eight children.Right now I'm looking at careers in septic tank maintenance and fat camp instruction. I was also thinking about being a Chippendale, but there doesn't seem to be much of a market for those here.I have many friends, but none of them ever seem to call me or remember my name. I think this is because they look up to me so much that they are afraid to interfere with my busy schedule. I wish they understood that even though I am better than them, I still like them.I love cheese. The only thing I love more than cheese is a good pedicure, and even then it's close.I'm afraid of loud noises, and especially hate Mk19 40mm automatic grenade launchers and industrial music. For this reason, I wear a fluffy hat with built-in earmuffs and a special red-and-gold Semper Fidelis pom-pom everywhere I go.That about sums me up.View My Livejournal

Shifting Tenses

I went out for a second time last night. I had no real reason for going, but I had to get out and away; I wanted to drive and think and listen. Rain was falling in sheets all the way out to LA. I had ...
