About Me

- -

After five years of pumping out disco jams at various clubs and events around Australia. The Swiss have been busy releasing their first vinyl "Movement I, II and III" on the exclusive “T-bots all nite house party” label. The 12 inch release features a Re-Edit by Brennan Green from the Chinatown label in New York. The release sold out in Europe and New York and due to demand another pressing has just been carried out. The Swiss was formed in 2002 drawing influences from the Head Hunters, Daft Punk, Frank Zappa and Kraftwerk.
The essence of the Swiss has always been their live shows where the improvisation can take the music anywhere. It is not uncommon for a psychedelic synth wash to evolve into a disco jam. Tony Mitolo is often seen as the driving force behind the Swiss. He slams out disco and electro beats like no other. Surahn Sidhu lays the all important groove down on the bass and even picks up a guitar and microphone from time to time. Luke Godson shines with luscious chords and soaring melodies using his vast array of Vintage Synthesizers. The Swiss are awaiting on their extremely busy pseudo fourth member Donnie Sloan, from Sneaky Sound System and Empire of the Sun production fame to apply the finishing touches in the studio to the next installment of The Swiss collection.

Sounds Like: THE SWISS - MOVEMENT 1 2 & 3 - BRENNAN GREEN EDIT - TBOTSide A delivers deep trippy disco smoothness with a jazzy edge, atmospherics, sparse but very effective keys and killer synth solos. A ten minute journey that varies in tempo and mood keeping the listener at peak interest throughout. Quite a blast of bass thumpin' disco funk for the finish. Flip over to side B for one energized slick disco funker with poppin' bass, hand claps, flighty synths, vocoder and more killer synth solos, seeming to be this groups specialty. Both sides are polished examples of what the best in this genre can offer. This should be huge with fans of Metro Area or Smash Hit. Smooooth.....
