About Me

Soon after being born in August, 1980, I started having breathing problems. As such, my mom was put under a lot of stress having to take me to the ER regularly. In addition, I developed ear-related disorders, which ended up following me until the age of 16. In my opinion, that latest misadventure might have explain why I soon developed hyper-sensitivity to sounds... -----------------1) THE " ROMAIN MICROS " TAPES----- At the age of two, I started recording myself and others on a cassette voice recorder until around the time I was eighteen-years-old. I would record just about anything: from holidays with the family, to concerts, hangouts with friends, and even teachers, though I had to be sneaky about that latter one. Nevertheless, and sadly enough, those records no longer exist. One day, out of mere stupidity and frustration, I got rid of them: an act I now deeply regret. 2) THE VOICE---------------At the age of four, my uncle asked me to make a guest appearance on the record he was working on. I did, and that was my first studio session. Then I made more guest appearances on my mom’s records, who’s recording for Enfance et Music, a label owned by my father, and for which I still work up to this day. By the way, if you have not figured it by now, my entire family is into music professionally one way or another. Anyway, my first solo performance was for the "p'tits loups du jazz" choir, which took me on my very first tour, stopping into places such as the world famous Olympia, and Casino de Paris. As of today, I guess I still use my voice in the studio, but on a much more limited scale than what I used to as a kid. 3) THE PIANO BECAME A FENDER RHODES... -----Around the age of six, I started learning how to play the piano, and more specifically, how to play jazz music. Now, I really was not much of pianist until I started working with the most amazing Mexican pianist you will ever meet, Hériberto Paredes, who eventually became my mentor. Rapidly, I started playing some Hendricks, and various rock, funk, soul and naked soul, and hip-hop tunes if you will, around Paris with a friend named Joon. Together, around the year two-thousand, we have worked on creating a band called Romshot Crew. The band was performing twice a week in Paris, enabling us to meet many more musicians, and putting together Jams sessions. And that is about when I bought my Prophet 600, made by Fender Rhodes. Initially, I thought it was a piece of crap, not much to get out of it really, but time teaches different, and that Analogue synthesizer proved itself extremely valuable: you just cannot always be right. 4) ELECTRONIC MUSIC-----I discovered House style music, by meeting Greg Musso, whom I have partnered with in creating a band. From there, I used Analogue Synthesizers like crazy, and my life was pretty much filled with concerts, studio sessions, and more concerts. 5) MR L'AROYE---------------Greg Musso later introduced me to l’Aroye, with whom I now record, and we got right off the bat recording keys studio sessions. L’Aroye brought much needed originality and dynamic into our working environment and into our productions, and that played a big role in our long lasting partnership. Eventually, I put out a Prophet 600 long solo… With cuts from L’Aroye at home, which became his first Ep P600 invasion… Then later we worked together on the “Be The One” ep, with a singer friend of mine going by the name of Humphrey. As for myself, I believe this is where “our sounds” gets his birth, where our atypical music finds its roots. As such, L’Aroye and I decide to create our own studio in two-thousand-four, where I started working on various recordings, sharing machines, and sharing music. Out there, we recorded the Dialect’s “Bag U Should” remix. Nowadays, we create and record various electronic, hip-hop, or soul vibes just to name a few. And as of right now, I am working on a project with Humphrey .6) LIVE, STAGE------------------ The idea just hit us one night down at the studio. Don’t look for any pattern because there is not any. But, we’re hoping to get down to it soon, so that should be fun.
