It was in ’03 that J.A.E finally decided to write a couple of lines and spit them for his big brother, whom he had grown up frequently hearing kick rhymes. The admiration he held for his big brother developed into a desire to be just like him. So J.A.E flowed; and his brother immediately recognized his raw talent, heard the potential in his voice, and encouraged him to keep writing and to keep working. J.A.E kept rhyming and eventually hooked up with producer YC, of The North Starz, who supplied him with the beats needed to make classic hits.For J.A.E, great lyricism is vitally important and he diligently grinds to maintain a crisp flow, to always have substantive content within that flow and to construct lyrics that connect with listeners in multiple states of mind and emotional locations. J.A.E steps into the booth dedicated to a greater purpose and is consciously aware of his responsibility to hip hop culture.J.A.E has melted microphone wires and destroyed stages at venues throughout Metro Detroit including: Alvin’s, Cass Tech High School and Checkers Bar and Grill. In 2007, J.A.E set the streets on fire with two mixtapes: The Collection Vol. 1 and The Collection Vol. 2: The Masterpiece, combined they have generated nearly 300 downloads online.
