About Me

Hey, if I say I love cricket and AFL will straight guys read my profile? Surely some Aussie blokes will at least?! ;-)I currently work as an Occupational Therapist in the community setting. And no, I don't help people get back to work ;-) I could, but I don't in this role. Basically, I am mainly involved in performing client home visits to provide education and make recommendations on increasing home safety and independence for them and their carers. This involves education and demonstration of alternative techniques and/or assessment and prescription of equipment. It is primarily a consultancy, client advocacy type role. In my position I am usually involved short term to assess clients, provide recommendations and complete follow-up (including referrals to other services, completing applications for equipment to funding bodies and completing letters of recommendation). Yeah, I know, it all sounds rivetting, doesn't it, especially the bit about the paperwork ;-) No, seriously, I really enjoy working with the 65+ age group (which make up most of the demographic) and I especially love working in the public health system. I love the fact that money doesn't dictate whether a client can access the service. To me, everyone should have equal access to the best healthcare; it shouldn't come down to cost. Anyway, now that my politically correct, social commentary is out of the way ;-), I can tell you a bit about my passions outside of work.My imagination drives me! I am particularly drawn to anything that encapsulates true romance (nothing tacky or cheesy! Ok ok, sadly sometimes I don't mind cheesy ;-) ). Jane Austen is one of my heroes! She has certainly been the impetus for me to become focused on my writing and photography again. I have written my first novel and am currently in the editing phase (many of you may have noticed me whining about it from time to time ;-) ). My goal is to have it published, possibly containing some of my photography as well. Not surprisingly, I am totally enamored with anything from the 1700s and 1800s. In a nutshell, I'm a girl with old people interests ;-) Maybe that's why I love the oldies so much?!I'd say I'm more on the introverted side but I do enjoy the company of friends and family and interesting others!Other things I love include reading (though I don't get to do enough of it these days), a good movie, Italian, Indian, Spanish, Macedonian and Greek food and attending live theatre, especially ballet, opera, plays, musicals and concerts.I have a rock star sister who lives overseas and my parents live approx 30 mins away, by car, from me. Simon (my hubby) and I are currently saving for our own house. You should create your own MySpace Layouts like me by using nUCLEArcENTURy .COM's MySpace Profile Editor !

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

The one person I'd love to have met would have been Michealangelo! I would have loved to have gotten to know him as a person and his drives and learn more about his natural artistic talent. And of course, I'd love to meet Jane Austen and really find out what happened between her and Tom Lefroy ;-)If I had to choose someone from these days, I'd say Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama and Morten Harket from the 80s band A-ha! They were the first band I had a full-on infatuation with!

Newly edited novel bit...

As Gallagher proceeded inside, he headed for their upstairs computer. Earlier in the day he had set it up through the stereo system so he could select and play tracks out of both his and Fraya's ipod ...
