Absurd Machine Inc. is a full service film and audio production company as well as a record label based in Winnipeg, MB, Canada. We work with independent artists to craft creative and professional solutions that help them produce and promote their works and ideas. The knowledge and skills that we have to offer the independent artist all stem from the experience we have acquired from years of producing and promoting our own works.
It is essential that the independent arts community work together to promote creativity in industries that are all too often based on commercial viability over art and freedom of expression. At Absurd Machine we are doing what we can to contribute to this vital process of change that is so badly needed.
Currently Absurd Machine Films is currently celebrating the success of its first self-financed in-house feature film Aegri Somnia.
After being well received at two private screenings in both Calgary and Winnipeg, Aegri Somnia (a sick man’s dreams) is heading out on the festival circuit.
Filmed in Winnipeg, Aegri Somnia is the story of Edgar, an unpopular loner who is unusually affected by the sudden death of his controlling wife.
Haunted by vivid hallucinations and a faceless city threatening to swallow him whole, Edgar's world begins to unravel, as his nightmares become a reality.
Principal photography took place over 60 days between October 19, 2007 and April 13, 2008, on over a dozen locations throughout Winnipeg and on sets built at Absurd Machine Studios.
“The unsettling world of Aegri Somnia was created through the passion and resourcefulness of a multi-talented local cast and crew,” says James Rewucki, Writer/ Director and co-owner of Absurd Machine Films. “The result is a Kafkaesque psychological thriller driven by strong visuals, dynamic performances and a complex and disturbing soundtrack.”
With only half the budget needed to make the film, Absurd Machine managed to finish Aegri Somnia within the original schedule, while achieving strong production values for such a small independent film. Rewucki, Michael Sanders, and Colin Musulak, principal owners of Absurd Machine Studios, Films and Records produced the film.
Aegri Somnia will be screened for the public in Winnipeg next spring.
Absurd Machine Films in association with Krahn Communications is currently in the final stages of post-production on 'Beyond The Beat' The doc will highlight local two-time Grammy nominee and youth pastor Rob Wilson (Fresh I.E).
The Puzzling World of The Enigma is enjoying some more festival success. It was chosen by The Moving Image Film Festival to screen November 9th in Toronto. Absurd Machine staff will be attending the festival and expect to have an excellent festival experience.
Absurd Machine Records is proud to announce that Lyle E Style has finished his new release "Cutting Room Floor".
The album has unreleased material from some of country musics biggest stars. Roy Orbison, Waylon Jennings, Buddy Holly, Bill Dees and Roger Miller. The CD also has a cover of the outlaw classic "Put Another Log On The Fire".
This is a great release and anyone who like country music should pick this up. It is available on Lyle E Styles myspace and website.

Dr. Rage & The Uppercuts have just started the mixing stage of their follow up release. This album showcases where the bands sound is going. The song writing has matured and after a year with the current bass player Steve Silver the band has never been tighter. The album will be released in the winter of 2009.
Lynn Olagundoye is currently doing demos and pre-production for her upcoming follow-up release. She will be in the studio in the new year recording and look for her album in the Spring of 2009.
