Background:
Comprehension is the pseudonym for a fiery, young lyricist who calls London, England home. At some point in his storied career he moved to southern Oregon to study the ways of Kung-Fu. But, his main focus is music; specifically hip-hop and the ever popular, drum and bass. Just to recap we have a British rapper who enjoys hip-hop and came to America to study martial arts. Think these kinds of storylines only happen in the movies? Think again!
Inspiration:
The artist known as Comprehension is very real, insisting that, Music will be the weapon of the future. His statement exemplifies his belief that music will be the catalyst for social change rather than more traditional channels like politics and local news. Comprehension is eager to bring a new voice to hip-hop, not to preach, but to inspire! He has already had lots of practice with larger than life figures in the hip hop world. He has performed at the Kayaking Olympics, World Peace Festival, produced beats for Verse 211 opening with E-40 at the Seattle Super Dome, and freestyled with Hyrogliphics and Living Legends Crew at Ashland's "A" street club. Not to mention the hip-hop fesitval at the Ashland Armory. He has also been known to host many an open mic freestyle cypher session and has become a celebrity in Ashland.
Plans for the Future:
In between learning La Tourrette Y Chi Mu lightning fast nerve cavity strikes and collaborating with other hip hop artists, Comprehension keeps busy writing and recording production of his own. He is currently working on his second albums worth of music in Portland Oregon. Where he plans to bring a golden age of conscious music to the Rosey City. Keep your hearts and minds open for Comprehension, he's got something special going on!
Comprehension is currently working with A&R Select, an independent A&R firm based in Hollywood, California. A&R Select is representing the artists work for record deals; film, television and video game scores; and publishing deals.
