From the Ashes

About Me

I'm a fantasy artist, a Christian, a lover of physics, a goofball, a dreamer, an obsessive compulsive looney, a watcher of anime and random cartoons, a lover of sleep and fuzzy things.
I sell stuff at the following locations:
http://www.artwanted.com/eshkenazi
http://ellenmilliongraphics.com
http://www.artcardswanted.com
I like to talk physics and philosophy with people. I try to be nice to people. I think God is the most awesome, incredible part of my life. Job is my favorite book in the bible. So are Jeremiah and Romans. ^_^
Frida Kahlo is one of my favorite artists--not because her art is pretty or because I find meaning in it or because I think she was a good/awesome person. She created very powerful, disturbing imagery that often had a profound emtional impact on her viewers. That is what art is about and I admire her ability to do that.
I like purple. It's a good color for every mood.
I'm grateful God has given me the ability to create. It's kept me [mostly] sane during the hard times.
I'm a boring person but I try not to be. :)
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V3.6 !

Bad habits meet annoying germs

So when I paint and I suddenly need to switch brushes (a frequent occurance) for a few moments I have this habit of sticking the brush I'm not using in my mouth just to hold it for a few moments. ...

Art Contests

So I have vowed never again to participate in an art contest where the judges are all friends who create in the same medium.  Judging is not objective.  Period.  (Okay, in rare cases ma...

Guys, girls, art and other various things of that sort

So I finally started painting again after a two month hiatus that I didn't really mean to take. It's funny--usually girls are the ones to ooh, ahh and generally just take to my art.  I guess beca...

Rice Krispies, commissions and other news of great importance

Have you ever noticed that when you decide on rice krispies for breakfast, you have to eat them *very* fast because they go soggy in about three seconds? Which brings me to the real point of this blog...

Last Night's Dream

So there I was, Karelia Desjaridin, Elf princess of Pirduin, trapped in Fangorn with Aragorn son of Arathorn, Legolas Greenleaf and Gandalf. The trees were making that creepy tree sound and it was dar...

A quick tutorial

A few people have mentioned and asked about the background on this painting:  So rather than answer them all individually, I thought I'd write a blog and then just direct them here.  I'm n...

Random flashy and blinking things. And the subject of water.

So here's a thought--I know we all want our portfolios to look all interesting and pretty.  But when you've got so many blinking, flashing, blipping, scrolling and random sparkly things on there ...

Random Philosophical stuff

Please disregard last night's post.  I was in a bad mood. I'm better now.  Or at any rate, I don't feel like sticking my head in the garbage disposal and flipping the switch (which is good b...
