About Me
Behind the decks since 1986, Andre Solaris has been perfecting his art of delivering quality music while sharing his party attitude with the crowds. Hailing from his native Poland and living in Chicago since 1982 gives him a unique mix of the European sensibility and first-hand House music exposure which translates to his style of progressive and mind-expanding sound that is set on a definite and floor-oriented groove. While holding numerous radio mix-show residencies in Chicago on such FM stations as Q101 FM (Sonic Boom), Energy 92.7&5 FM (Clubland Underground), and B96 FM (The StreetMix) between 2001 and 2005 and as a resident of “Fuel†on XM Satellite Radio (Ch. 80 - 'The Move' and Ch. 82 - 'The System') between 2002 and 2007, he has produced over 1000 hours of mix sets for the broadcasts (you can catch some of Andre's work on his podcast titled the "FUELcast"). He has also been heading his promotions company FUEL Promote which has been responsible for putting on quality underground club events in the Chicago area since 1998. With FUEL, Andre has become known for his very particular take on sound quality and the visual aspects of all of the productions. The events are always top notch technically yet retain a cool underground vibe. He also plays out in Chicago at many of the city’s clubs and has been tasked with playing alongside such DJ names as Danny Howells, Jody Wisternoff, Meat Katie, Parks & Wilson, Sander Kleinenberg, Max Graham, Steve Lawler, Sasha, Steve Porter, and others. With his musical background ranging from early Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, Underworld, The Orb, and Pink Floyd, early European Electro, and Techno he is extremely comfortable with music that ventures into new territories. He never pigeonholes himself to any particular style of House and even prefers to call his music Future House rather than Progressive, which has its obvious genre limitations. Currently producing at his Electric Playground Studio he already has a number of remixes and original tracks under his belt. Working closely with dj and studio partner Nosmo and Kris B of the NvK production duo provides a wealth of great creativity and sound versatility. His new label Electric Playground Recordings is due to launch in the near future. Currently work is being done on an intense live performance project with long time friend and music colaborator M-Pulse. The project will be revealed soon and a tour to follow.
