Champs de Mars

this is "champs de mars", a field underneath the eiffel tower and a metro stop in paris... and now someone can add rock band from san francisco to the list... yeah, so through the course of saying the name to friends we've realized that its a pretty hard name to pronounce but we thought that it'd be a great idea to challenge our fans right off the bat so that they know what they're in for.we tried forming a task force to come up with a new simpler, sleaker name like "jimmy" or "erik", but these names fell flat and don't seem to capture the experience that is "champs de mars".band history: so the band started in 1964 and quickly thereafter broke up only to be reformed 40 years later in 2004. obviously thats a lie, but that makes for a much better story. the truth is dave (the drummer) and i played together in a previous band called invid. when that wound down, we toyed with the idea of using computers in place of humans but quickly found out that computers don't have a sense of humor and were not much fun to "jam" with. at this point, we looked for a bassist and happened upon ryan o'kane, a creative bassist with impeccable taste. next came guitarist cyrus jam, who's name was so cool we had to have him in the band...and the story continues to unfold as i sit here and type. masterpieces are being composed, rhythms are being produced, and melodies are being manufactured... all these tasks have have been outsourced, of course, so that production can continue 24/7; we're planning on churning out two double-length albums in the coming months and releasing what may be the world's first triple-length album by the end of 2005... in the meantime, we're focusing our efforts on important things like haircuts, tight t-shirts, muscles, and getting on mtv...lates
