I made my myspace layout using Pimp-My-Profile.com
Welcome to my page. I am Tyn. I created this page mainly to put some music online, and see how people like it. By doing so I discovered that myspace is also an interesting community-site to network. I'm not a professional musician. I work as a careworker in a home for severly disabled children, and I hope to finnish my study "pedagogy" this year. I'm interested in: human behaviour, pedagogy, psychology, filosofy, zen, religion, art, martial arts, music, and movies. However, music seems to be my passion, inspiration and drive. Still I believe there's a time for everything, more things to do, more things to learn..MY FIRST COMPUTER: AMIGA 500 Somewhere around 1992 I bought my first computer, a commodore Amiga 500, and I expanded the internal memory to 1 MB (can you imagine?). At first I just played games on it. Later my friends started programming and creating audio-visiual demo's, sort of videoclips created on the computer. At some point a friend showed me a sequencer program called "protracker". It had 4 channels at wich you could play samples, and create your own composition. I knew instantly this software was a fantastic possibility to express musical ideas. I realised that you could continue to edit/improve your song for as long as you like, which gives a great opportunity to learn. When there is a wrong note, you can simply change it or leave it out. Also you can make compositions as complicated as you like because you don't have to worry about actually playing it. Later I found out that this also has it's disadvantages (I like the sound of a lot of accoustic instruments). Anyway I programmed some music for the Amiga demo's, and later for a computergame programmed by a friend. Then somehow this amiga period just ended (maybe it was because the pc's got faster and all). We were not making demo's or games anymore, so why should I compose music? Somehow I had gotten used to composing music, I liked to express my ideas and emotions in that way, and to me it was a form of art. Composing music had already become an important part of me.
EQUIPMENT After two or three years I really started to feel limited by this sequencer on the amiga, most of all because it had only 4 channels. Later on I also started to realize that the soundquality was not exactly the same as the dance music that was played on radio and tv.
Through the years I expanded my equipment. I started to buy a synthesizer (a GMega by Kawai, great synthesizer I still use this one most of the time!). Somewhat later I bought a drumcomputer and started using midi. I did not have to rely on the internal Amiga sound but I could hook up my synthesizer and later on my drumcomputer to the computer.
INFLUENCES Around 1992-1994 I was really into the prodigy (who wasn't?), but I also liked all the techno and ambient stuff that I saw on mtv's "Chill-Out Zone". I discoverd music by Future Sound Of Londen, Orbital, Sven Vath etc. This was music that I liked very much and I wanted to create something like this. I also started to listen to rap around this time.
Around 1995 jungle and later drum&bass were appearing on the scene. After hearing Goldie's timeless I wanted to produce drum&bass. Then when Photek's Modus Operandi was released, that record became sort of important to me, I was listening to it all all the time. I started to look for his older records but they were all deleted. Still now and then I found one or ordered one and they were like major works of art to me.
RELEASES Debut album: "Hidden Sources" has been released digitally on fintunes
I have just finished my first album "Hidden Sources" it is half drum&bass, half electronic or maybe triphop or ambient. When it comes to drum&bass I still like the complex breaks from the '95 '96 period the most. That's how my drum&bass will probably sound.
