I like both kinds of music: country AND western!!
Music is a big part of my life and has introduced me to so many interesting people in fun places. Alaska is my home, but I'm currently spending part of the year in Austin so I can be with the one I love. After years of living alone in Cantwell and staring at the lonesome faces at the Longhorn Saloon, I decided that if I have to live somewhere else for half the year to be with that someone special it was well worth it. I miss my Alaska friends and family, but have found a fun group of friends and musicians in Austin to live and laugh with. And really, summers in Alaska and winters in Austin: not a bad idea!! There are times when there is a 120 degree temperature difference! At home in Alaska I wait tables at 229 Parks which I LOVE. It's fun work and a place with amazing food and strong organic and sustainable ethics. I enjoy hiking, playing bass with Salty Gravy, raft trips, breakfast with friends, and trips into Denali Park and around the state. In Austin I love going to my daily yoga classes, riding my bike, walking around the lake, honky tonkin', playing bass, seeing movies, enjoying lunch with friends. Wherever I am I try to go to as many music festivals as possible. Normally bluegrass, but more recently Cajun and Zydeco fests too. (Oh, Lafayette...) I just like to have a fun time!
