The strangest thing that has happened to me so far has to be the night I was proposed to by a morbidly obese married alcoholic during an Elvis impersonators concert on Beal Street, Memphis. He ended the proposal with "I give good sex..." very classy line. Well, at least I can say that one person has proposed to me. Still, I really like Beal Street, although I am never going to drink shots served to me by a man doing interpretive dance and then follow them up with cheap cigars ever again!

I'd like to meet someone with an appreciation of the absurd. I think Paul Aster said it best when he said "Experiences happen to people who can experience them." I don't actually think that is an exact quote, and I am not absolutely sure that was from New York Stories, but that is as good as it is going to get without me digging into storage and reading the book again. As an English teacher I really should be better about that sort of thing, but it's late and I'm watching "Most Extreme Elimination." So, what I am saying is that I want to meet people who are open to having experiences, particularly if they are bizzare. Not dangerous mind you, just weird.

Organized living
