About Me

It seems that everyone I know is very interesting and has a lot of cool stuff to say... I can't really think of anything... no, nothing at all. I'll go away, have a little think... Well I did and I still can't really think of anything except I'm weak willed and then I have a headache! I'll see you next time I can't say no...

My Interests

My husband Matt, friends, being silly, dancing about, singing really badly, hugs & kisses, books, music, tv, film, theatre, french, skiing, racquet sports, horseriding, country walks, keeping fit, travel, eating good food, drinking good wine and cocktails...Been watching ballet at the Royal Opera House a bit lately. I wanna be a ballerina! If you can, see The Seven Deadly Sins with Martha Wainwright singing - mindblowing and pretty raunchy!

I'd like to meet:

Even more lovely interesting people.

Music:

I was named after the folk singer Melanie so I am a sucker for a nice female vocal like Feist or Emiliana Torrini. Really enjoying the Kings of Convenience and Jose Gonzales album at the moment (I'm getting old) and also The Spinto Band (Oh Mandy!), The Magic Numbers, Kate Bush. Favourite song is the Girl from Ipanema followed close second by the Turnip Fish (Sultans of Ping). Pop, disco, electronica... Hall&Oates, Dennis Parker, Carly Simon, The Cure, Underground Resistance, Caged Baby, Switch...is all good. Also must plug my gorgeous hubby Matt Edwards (Radio Slave/Rekid) as he is a very clever man!

Movies:

Little Miss Sunshine is my film of 2006. Laughed so much I cried. Volver was good and moving. Big Fish, Elixir of Love, Black Cat White Cat - like modern day fairy tales. Used to be obsessed with Excalibur when I was about 14 - still remember the spell...v sad I know. Love silly films, clever films, arty films but nothing that will give me nightmares.

Television:

Guilty pleasure is Sunday morning hangover with the papers and Hollyoaks...oh dear.

Books:

So many. Just read "The Wind-up Bird Chronicle" by Haruki Murakami - amazing. "The Accidental" by Ali Smith is v good. "Shadow of the Wind" had me weeping on the beach in Ibiza. Generally love reading and can't even begin...I work in publishing!

Heroes:

My Dad - Jag Arora.
