About Me
Born and raised in South Africa until I was 10 years old. Mom married an American and we, Mom, Greg my new dad and sister Nira, moved to the US in '86. Lived in the mountains over by Donner summit where it was Hella' Cold. Greg than got work For the CDC and we moved to Susanville CA, 80 miles northwest of Reno. In Susanville brother Dylan was born. Mom thought it was to cold in Susanville and after taking a vacation to Hawaii, Mom and Greg decided to move there. I finished High School at Ka'u High, where I got really into Music. Ian Hunter, Kaber Stanton and I Started a band called Metalloids. We didn't play for anyone other than ourselves but I learned bass on Nervana songs and moved on to Classic rock, Hendrix, Led Zep and Stones. Metalloids was also the cross country and track team so we were always together with walkmans and cassettes. After graduating high school I went to Chico State to study music. Recording Arts was a part of music that could be an ongoing career. Freshman year I joined another band Sacred Cow, Stones/Pearl jam band with a voice like Brian Adams. Being new to a scene that was congested with musicians my job as bassist for Cow was taken over by a six string fenom who was Jaco influenced and was more of what the band needed. I focused on school and met a Metalica head Lee, who could ride his bike from home to school while playing his acoustic guitar. Lee and I auditioned for a couple of local guys who were just looking for a bassist but wanted to hear Lee. Lee is Jewish and a good sails man. Well Lee was too much of a Metal head even for me, but they did want to keep me. Lee was disappointed but understood for these two guys were great had everything together even a name, Forces of Nature. I became the G-force, and The Nature was at bars frat parties and campus events. For 3 years Chris Smith, drummer, and Joe Worswick, guitar and song writer were my best friends. But the 2 of them being stubborn Vergos, Forces of Nature died softly when Chris wanted to take the band into his Hiphop direction and Joe didn’t. Once again I focused ..ing school getting into theatre and working for Bars as a sound guy. Dan Craig Local music store owner and sound reinforcement teacher got me on that road. Bob Tolar of Tolar sound also got me involved with the best equipment even after I blew some speakers. Upon graduating College I had a lot of success in Theatre and Mike Johnson got me an Intern with PCPA in Santa Maria with the sound department. I did some sound design and operations but found that theatre was not for me. There I met Stewat Fable who found a company in Palm Springs and became their lighting designer. When my intern was up Stew had me apply for the Audio assistant position. There Marc Jones took me under his wing and we put together Agua Caliente Casino’s Sound systems and became there AV company. Later the Casino realized that they could use there own AV in house guy and offered me the job. They created the Special Events Technical Coordinator position where I have been the last 3 years. Right after I started working for the casino, the greatest thing ever happened to me. I met the love of my life. Mellissa and I have bought a house to share with Freddy and Nikki (the Kids). On May 27th 2006 we got married. After a while We figured out that we are better friends, Then Husband and Wife. I had to figure out how to cope with the Idea that I'm going to have to say good-bye to my wife , step kids Freddy and Nikki, dogs Sandy and Gizmo. I'm giving back my house and car, and leaving the Desert. I'm leaving some good people to take care of California and all that lies therein. My carrier in the California Indian Gaming Industry will be one I may return to someday but Come Feb. 26, I'm moving to Hawaii and not looking Back. One Last Gig, the Date Festival Musical. Life in Hawaii is nice and Mellow, I could use stimulation, no nightclubs on the island. Anyone have any ideas?
