Drug Related Death of Elvis

About Me

This is one of the sounds Troy, Ohio would make if it could fart. We're 8 miles from the armpit of the universe. Over the years Jay & I (John) have played in a variety of bands in the area: Strawberry Love Gel, Strict9, Knucklehead Kings, Playground Legends & Donner Party of 5. We met a while back when we worked together at Carl's Cruise-In (a drive-thru in Troy). After jammin' for a year or so in smoke filled basements, we decided to venture out into the real world and play in front of people. After much deliberation & debate we finally came up with the band name: Drug Related Death of Elvis - something a buddy of mine in Texas came up with but never used (at least to my knowledge). Tyler & Denis smack percussion instruments around when we rock out. Becca (the Kelly Clarkson of death metal) sings when she's drunk... which is all the time. (no, I'm not removing that comment. blow me :) thx -John

Influences: Johnny Cash, The Replacements, Sublime, Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin, Jack Johnson, The Waterboys, The Clash, Social Distortion, Dropkick Murphys, Leinie's Creamy Dark, Slayer and a whole plethora of others.
Sounds Like: If you could take a few chunks of Bill Monroe, a pinch of The Replacements, some Led Zepplin & a wee bit of some crappy folk band and throw it all in a blender.... we would be the sound of that blender.
