About Me
I'm an ex-Traveller turned Showman, running Quality Event Services with my best mate, and a small but perfectly formed crew. We are a small independent production company specialising in funky, intimate party spaces for festivals and outdoor events. For the past five years I have been running Eco-Arcadia, the World's First Biodiesel-powered Pinball Arcade, and other small intimate venues and party spaces, like Wonderland (Bestival), Club 42 (Secret Garden Party), and Shambala's crew bar. I also dry-hire out our marquees and sound system both privately, and at festivals and outdoor events throughout the U.K.
For next summer, I have put a new space together called 'Come and Play', with space for 300+. Essentially an expansion of Eco-Arcadia, in a larger space, with a stage as well as the decks and the games.
I have just gained my NCPLH level II, and should hopefully be fully licenced to run bars at events by the start of 2008.
Over the last 18 years I've had a go at most things in connection with festivals, parties, and outdoor events: I can put up most tents, marquees, yurts, geodesic domes etc; do site crewing and management; health and safety; site plumbing; stage building and managing; bar and cafe work; band road managing; and I intend to get a forklift licence, and up my class III driving licence to a class II in the near future.
As a dj, I play deep, funky, underground House, and am a founder member of the Pollen dj collective in Brighton. -Check the section from one of my recent mixes on the player.
I also have a wide repertoire of other styles I like to play out ranging from Ska, Soul, Funk, Disco, Jive and Swing; via Balkan Beats, Gypsy, and Folk music; to Punk, Indie, and unusual eclectic Rock.
When not doing the festivals I work as local crew for bands coming to venues in Brighton; and dj wherever and whenever I can.
I have a wonderful 12yr old boy, who I am finally starting to get to spend more time with. Hooray!
