ADRENALINE

About Me

Adrenaline are a 5 piece band from the North West. Playing mostly original melodic hard rock, with a nod to many rock/metal bands from the 70’s/80’s, you should know what to expect! The range of influences within the band are extreme and, as the writing has developed, a distinctly Adrenaline flavour has emerged. On guitar and lead vocals is Tony Rimmer. Van Halen, Vaughn, Thunder, The Eagles and Sammy Hagar are the biggest influences for Tony. A keen sense of melody and a knack for great hooks typify his writing style. Pointy headstock, Floyd Rose, humbuckers, red guitars and gain set to maximum, tells you all you need to know about his guitar playing. On Drums is the phenomenally understated Dave “big nose” Aindow. Dave sings fantastic backing vocals and has a knack for saying nothing then coming out with a brilliant piece of musical insight. Dave has a passion for prog-rock and metal bands alike. Although he’s known to utter “not arsed” a lot, he is and we know it!Des Walsh aka Dimbledog, is guitarist extraordinaire. Schooled on prog-rock giants like Genesis and Rush, his influence is clear. He fell in love with metal in the 80’s and Van Halen made a huge impact. Eris Johnson, Vai, Satriani and Malmsteen have all figured in Des’ influences and made his input to the band vital. Measured and precise in his playing, Des is a perfect guitar partner for Tony. He smiles from the first minute to the last!Ten months down the line and still referred to as the new boy, Rob Bakewell is the bands amazing keyboard player. Rob is a superb musician, with a keen musical ear and incredible writing talents. Many of the old Adrenaline songs have been transformed by Rob’s playing. The new material is also benefiting from Rob’s input. Aint Know Shame in Crying, is a prime example.Bass guitarist’s seldom have a unique, instantly recognizable tone. Neil Humphrey aka Cakefist does though and it takes no prisoners! Neil’s love of Kiss, Rush and Van Halen have led to his fantastic finger style playing. After years as a pick player, Neil abandoned that and found a huge leap forward by this change. Neil’s backing vocals, songwriting ability and his musical ear are essential components in the Adrenaline make-up. Gas masks at the ready though!Currently, the band have the labour of love that is their debut CD just about 75% done. Working with the uber talented producer/muso type guy, Steve Cooper, on a part time basis for the past 12 months, the plan is to have the project completed by Summer, followed by a launch party NOT to miss!Live the band are at their best. Smiles, great songs, melody, catchy hooks, solos and an undeniable sense of fun are what they are all about. Do yourself a favour, go and catch them live for a real Adrenaline Rush!
