As a young primary school boy, Shinra first started his audio experiments on his trusty Amiga 600 computer, producing goodness knows what with OCTAmed 4 software. As the years went by, he spent many long hours on the decks in his living room, djing progressive house to an audience of just himself :( Fast forward to about the year 2000, when he first obtained a cd by the mighty Aphex, and his musical tastes were forever changed. Since then, Shinra has been banging out crazy tunes on his laptop like nobody's business. His first break was provided by Saint Acid, who invited him to play at Bangface in March 2005, which went down a storm, and led to various other exciting gigs such as Wrong Music in Brighton, Fractals in Reading, Ruin It in Glasgow, and a couple more Bangface appearances.Shinra's first release, 'Demons', came out in summer 2006 on Wrong Music's netlabel (www.net-lab.co.uk), and compiles his best tracks from the heady days of 2004 and 2005. Feedback on 'Demons' has been remarkably positive, with Mary Ann Hobbs even playing a track on her nationwide Radio 1 show.Since the summer, Shinra has assembled a full live acid set which has gone down well at both Bangface and Fractals, and more recently helped him to win the title of Laptop Battle champion! He has several ideas running around in his head for future projects, and regularly plays around the UK, so try and see him sometime. For gig bookings, email
