DJ Sir Round

About Me

Hello fellow heads. This is DJ Sir Round and Im a soulful house DJ. Ive been soulful and funky as long as I can remember. I started off as an engineer at the funkiest studio in the world, Paisley Park Minnesota for the likes of Prince, George Clinton, Pointer Sisters, David Z, Madhouse and many others. I finally hit the decks in 1999 when I started buying soulful house and broken beat/2 step. 7 years later and I havent slowed down. Ive DJed at many of the venues that promote house nights here in Portland. My favorite gig was at burning man which my friends "The Disco Headhunters" have been attending since 1996. A couple of us got a chance to play on Camp Disorient's sound (bangin system!). We played right after the man burnt on Saturday night. I played the set that lasted thru the sunrise, which was a slot I had always dreamed of at Burning man. In a surreal moment that evening a group of Manataurs (half men half horse) came up to me bowing. What could I do but bow back, raise my hands into the first rays of sunshine and smile knowing that soulful house music was alive and well. My most recent work has been with the now defunkt pirate radio operation here in Portland 96.7fm. The show was called Jackin' and its the only soulful house show of its kind on the Portland radio dial.
