I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Wanna FRIEND me... SEND ME A PERSONAL MESSAGE.
To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness… And if we do act, in however small a way, we don’t have to wait for some grand utopian future. The future is an infinite succession of presents, and to live now as we think human beings should live, in defiance of all that is bad around us, is itself a marvelous victory.
Howard Zinn
Very busy, lifestyle gothic type, mother of toddler, seeks similar or same for quality sanity breaks.
You are 84% Swampy. Now go get a drink

True Swampy. Muddy feet, horrible garb, poor health and everything. A few more years and you'll be dead like the rest of us.

I believe strongly in community and our responsibility to each other, STARTING FOREMOST IN THE FRIGGIN HOME.
Currently residing in a lame duck house, in a very not so cool town in upstate NY. (Gloversville Fulton County New York State.)
Please drop me a note if you’d like me to friend you… I WILL delete unknown requesters.
I am newish to this (*Gloversville/Albany) area (a recent transplant form Philadelphia PA) and hoping to meet new people… Which has proven to be difficult in this area, especially since I have a three year old.
I am LYSDEXIC, and don’t always to take the time to use a spell checker. Please don’t hold it against me. (When one must choose between checking ones spelling or grammar, and making sure the toddler hasn’t set himself on fire… well… yah dig?)
I am an artist and costumer. (Evidence of this can be found in my pics.)
The above-mentioned are two more reasons why spelling and grammar aren’t my forte.
I am currently taking time off from being an artist and costumer to work on my true Masterwork, MY BEAUTIFUL SON. (Evidence of my son can be found everywhere.) Although I am currently working on collecting evidence of my past costumes, creative projects and hyjinx to build a vanity web site in the future...
Spiritually, I call myself a Taoist-pagan. I have since I was 13… in the early 80s. Which means, I am officially PUSHIN 40. (Don’t hold that against me either… I’m fine with it… REALLY.) ANYWAY. I am a tree huggin pagan type. (Not wiccan, but share many of those beliefs.)
Back to ART. I have a degree in Illustration and design. But it didn’t hold my interest. I dabble in that from time to time with various projects of no great measure…
HOWEVER
I never outgrew the love of playing DRESS UP. Which brings me back around to my love of COSTUME.
My real art form is the art of personal illusion. Historical, anachronistic or accurate, Fantasy or Theatrical. You name it. I love it. I have been a participating member of the S.C.A. (society for creative anachronism) since 1991. My heart is closer to American Victoriana or European Restoration than any other era.
I have worked in professional costume houses, in the fetish fashion industry, for theater, and as a stylist… I can do makeup… But PLEASE don’t ask me to do hair. I SUCK at hair.
YES, I am a creature of vanity… I own over 100 pairs of shoes, mostly black, and many boots above the knee. I collect vintage clothes purses and gloves. I needed a semi to move my accessories collection alone. (Previous to spawning, it was not unusual for me to take four hours getting dressed for an event, after planning the outfit for a week…) but don’t hold that against me. I am oft described as a drag queen, although I assure you I am biologically a woman. I have been checked. I guess i go so far that I travel all the way around.
I have been admonished for excessive use of glitter HOWEVER
I am also a relatively pragmatic down to earth hippie who will spend three days off in the same outfit, I obsessively recycle, I eat as organically as I can afford, (And am doubly careful with my son’s diet) and I am aware that antiperspirant will eat my brain. I’m NOT a vegetarian, so I wont bug you to turn to tofu… but I may bug you about your mindless habit of using a straw when you hit the fast food joint. (…The average American could fill three industrial sized trash bags with the straws they use in a lifetime, which will sit in a landfill, which just ISN’T necessary. Think about it. SEE?… )
That’s me in a nutshell. I don’t expect to update this bio any time soon. (It took me years to get around to taking the time to make myself appear to be THIS interesting.)
And now I need to go to bed.(PS: I love to cook… am a sit com/ sci fi junkie… love abba… and… )
CHECK OUT MY PICS, which say many thousand words.

You are The Tower

Ambition, fighting, war, courage. Destruction, danger, fall, ruin.

The Tower represents war, destruction, but also spiritual renewal. Plans are disrupted. Your views and ideas will change as a result.

The Tower is a card about war, a war between the structures of lies and the lightning flash of truth. The Tower stands for "false concepts and institutions that we take for real." You have been shaken up; blinded by a shocking revelation. It sometimes takes that to see a truth that one refuses to see. Or to bring down beliefs that are so well constructed. What's most important to remember is that the tearing down of this structure, however painful, makes room for something new to be built.

What Tarot Card are You?
