I am here for Friends

About Me

You already know what I like, so let's start here with what I don't. I don't like conflict, and will attempt to resolve it if I can. I don't like being called Carolyn instead of Caroline. I don't like injustice, ignorance or indecisiveness, in myself especially.

Some labels:
Libra
INFJ

These things are very important to me: my emotional well-being, responsibility to/helping others, creativity/self-expression, intellectual challenge, acheivement/productivity, loyalty, authenticity, and integrity.

I impose structure and organization onto my life so that I can live in the outside world when it conflicts with my inner world, governed by the whims of my imagination. I like talking about ideas and reflecting on my observations of people and their interactions. I strive to lead by example, and I care deeply about my friends.

My Interests

Activities I enjoy: singing together, dancing, learning languages, French, American Sign Language, Japanese, Latin, Italian, Old English, video games, computer games, roleplaying games, conversation, people-watching, Society for Creative Anachronisms, puzzles, stories, musical theatre, travelling, thinking, karaoke, DDR, beading
I also like the genre of fantasy/science fiction for movies, tv, and books

Things I value: learning, community, God, small town life, family, the Grange, feminism, science, language, culture, politics

I'd like to meet:

It's not so much the person I meet as the experience, the relationship. I strive for relationships that promote the growth of myself and others, and positive experiences that strengthen those relationships.

Getting Married

I'm always astounded when I see the astronomical figures that wedding planning sites estimate for weddings; say, $10,000 (at the minimum), or perhaps $60,000 in the northeast. Thank goodness I don't b...
