About me...hmmmm....so many things to say and so many ways to say it. Compare me to the moon. Bright when it's right, powerful with a touch of elegance, feminine with enough strength to pull in the tide, and curved in all the right places. My family originally hails from India, but my parents were born and raised on the continent of Africa. East Africa and South Africa are my mother land and India my grandmother land =) My family's history and legacy is a complex weaving of migratory patterns through time from India to Africa to the U.S. Indian history intertwined with South African and East African history, complex, yet simple. I love to hear my Uncle's, aunts, and parents tell me the tales of their lives, what the world was like for them and to heed their lessons. Praise the ancestors and respect always. I love to laugh, dance, learn, talk, tell the tales and lessons I've learned, argue when I feel the need, shop (did someone say puma? shoes?), and be the best nurse, daughter, sister, auntie, woman, and friend that I can be. I feel it's my duty to pass on my history and tradition to the youth of my family and community. Revolution starts with you, people of color unite!
