After playing with many ideas and plans, saxophonist Peter decided to form a metal band with saxophone in May 2004. A number of phone calls and e-mails later, bass player Stijn Deldaele and guitarist Xavier Silversmet joined in. A drummer was found in Guy Vernelen. Rehearsals started in September 2004 and very soon already the band had 8 songs ready. Only a good vocalist was still missing. After some fruitless try-outs with singers, the band agreed that Peter would take the vocal job temporarily as well.
In December that year drummer Guy disappeared from the group for unknown reasons, and his replacement was found in Niek Tournois. The magic was there from his first rehearsal. Shortly after guitarist Jeroen Foré joined Wretched Vixen on the 7-string. From this moment on the face and sound of the band were set.
Wretched Vixen played their first concert on 17 November 2005 in Gent on a ridiculously small stage. The atmosphere was great, but reactions were still very divided on the vocal topic. This pushed the band to continue the search for an extra steady member behind the microphone. In July 2006 this person was found in Peggy Meeussen. She already left the band again in January 2007 due to health reasons.
It took a lot of time and even more auditions, but after more than 6 months there was one victorious vixen! Laura Nurmi joined the band in August 2007 after a bonecrushing and neckbreaking try-out concert in Antwerp.
