I was born and grew up in Dodge City, Kansas (yes, it is real - no, we didn't all still ride horses to get around....well, except this once I *did* ride down Wyatt Earp - the street - while having a *couple* of beers and almost got a ticket! Not the norm though.) I met my husband online in 1999, then moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma and married him in 2000. We lived there a couple of years then moved out here to North Carolina. No jobs, no family, no plans - just 'hey this looks like a great area' and off we went. Hubby flew out, found us a house on his last day here and I saw NC and our new home when we moved. Pretty scary, but so exciting! It was a great move and we love it here. It's wonderful to head to the beach whenever you like, or go to the mountains in the other direction.We started skydiving in 2000 and have around 120 skydives each. Really, not as many as we'd like given how long we've been jumping, but we've had periods of 'breaks' because it really is an expensive sport! We'll never be 'whuffos' though and hope to retire to a beach near a dropzone, live on ramen noodles in an old winnie and jump our a**es off one day!So far I've jumped from several kinds of planes, including a bi-plane, flipped upside down with me hanging from it and a helicopter after the most awesome ride - me hanging out the door on the side as it skimmed the ground then went straight up for the jump. I've jumped at 2 DZ's in Texas, 3 in Oklahoma, 1 in Kansas, 3 in North Carolina; I've done a night jump, headdown, a horny-gorilla and para-sailed from the back of a pickup when it was too stormy to jump from a plane.I've only 'almost died' twice and had it yelled at me once ;-)
