DJ Dickey Doo has played up and down both coasts, from New York, to montreal, from Vancouver to L.A, and has been recruited to play for the likes of Chanel, Miss Universe, Queer as Folk and Fashion Cares. Dickey has been handpicked to play alongside djs such as Peter Rauhofer, Roger Sanchez, Deep Dish, Derrick Carter, Lil Louis Vega, Junior Vasquez and many many more. Dickey has collaborated musically with artists such as Eddie Amador (Street corner symphonies “symphonic tonic” remix on the ministry of sound label), Nyc’s Lady Bunny and Fabrics’ Tyler Stadius. In addition Dickey’s remix of R.E.M’s “Animal” was released in summer 2004 by Warner brothers records USA as a dj promo 12”, and his remixes of Harmar Superstars “body request” was released in Jan 2005 as a cd maxi and a double pack 12” single on w.b U.S.A also. Dickey is currently collaborating with Larry t (nyc) as well as the toilet boys Miss Guy (nyc) with Marc Belke of the legendary hardcore band S.N.F.U on his 2nd album project!! In 1995, Dickey and Michael Venus joined forces to create the interdisciplinary artist collective, The House of Venus, for which Dickey now acts as musical director, scoring numerous short films as well as their weekly cable show " THE HOUSE OF VENUS SHOW" airing nationally in Canadaland on the worlds first gay cable channel OUT TV !! http://www.outtv.ca/prog/houseofvenus.asp The show has also been picked up in USA, Holland,France,Holland, Netherlands, Belgium,Germany,Australia and more 2 come!!! Recently voted Vancouver’s favorite local D.J. in the Georgia Straight’s People’s Choice Music Awards, Dickey released his first full length album of original music under the “Dixmix” moniker titled “Nocturnal Adventures”,in september 2004, and spent a large part of 2005 touring europe and n.america in support of it!!
