Boy Turns Hero formed late 2005 under the name Straight To Finish. Originally they were a four piece pop punk band consisting of Newg, Rakan and two others until they recruited another guitarist, Goc. They played under the name Straight To Finish until losing their drummer and singer. They decided it would be best if Goc became the new drummer since he was a drummer first, guitarist second. Now the issue of a new guitarist and lead singer had to be dealt with.
Chris, who's biggest influences are people like Hendrix, wasn't exactly the kind of guitarist you would first think of for a pop/punk band but ended up bringing a completely different dynamic to them. They then changed their name to Boy Turns Hero and began to write songs. Kells agreed to audition and from their first practice together they knew that he would be their lead singer.
Since then the band have been working hard on writing songs, playing shows and recording their material and are planning on releasing an E.P. early 2008. To date they have played numerous shows in venues all over Dublin including Temple Bar Music Centre and have played alongside bands such as Heideroosjes from the Netherlands, Out Of Sight from the U.K. and Movies With Heroes and The Wonder Years from the U.S. In November of 2007 they played a sold out show in the famous Whelans with U.K. band Elliot Minor_______________________________________________________
