Tom Waits

I am a 27 year old journalist. I am studying for a degree in Falmouth Cornwall and in my spare time I am the singer/guitarist in my band Ranger Smith. I am just about to graduate and then its off to America for me...4 months... I cant wait. My band play every weekend so look out for us in a town near you (cheap plug). We like to think we take old songs from John Denver and Del Shannon amongst others, and make them better. We are currently working on a cover version of the Bear Necessities made famous by the Jungle Book and in particular Baloo the Bear.

Obviously being in a band means I must have some sort of passion for music. I like everything from Frank Sinatra to System of a down (really like the crazy underground indi/grunge/punk stuff somewhere in the middle.) I am also a huge fan of Tom Waits and the Dead Kennedys, you can find some lyrics by them on this page.
Me as a person. I like to think that I'm the kind of guy who can get on with anyone. Recently with the birth of the CHAV this isn't as easy as it sounds. I do however give everyone a chance to impress. I'm an easy going guy that gets on with 95% of the population. There a few things that rub me the wrong way, the main one is when girls say I'm cute. Why don't they just say...not my type? Apparently I'm a funny cute kinda guy, but I have been working hard on becoming a bad ass when i need to be.
There are many problems in the world and I cant possibly address or give my views on them right now, but I always have a rant at our gigs, look out for it. Usually when we have to pay for beer!
In my spare spare time, i like to play computer games (I really ain't a geek!) Travel, I have been to 27 American states (I love it there), support Aston Villa football club and read. I love reading books by Hubert Selby Jr, the guy is amazing. Oh i also like to partake in occasional sport, like swimming and more recently badminton. Does anyone know if a duck with one leg would swim in circles? Thats been bugging me my whole life. PLEASE MESSAGE IF YOU HAVE A ONE LEG DUCK AND A YOU TUBE ACCOUNT.
