About Me

Hitcher are a 6 piece ambient post rock band from Edinburgh, Scotland. Originally started as a 3 piece by Rusty, Remer and Doog back in 2005, Hartmann and Porterfield joined in the Summer 2007 to add a whole new feel and depth to the music.
Doog (bass) decided to leave in Jan 2009 for ventures new. At this point we added a 3rd guitarist, with Scott Roy joining in late Jan 2009.
The current line up was completed with the addition of Keith MacLeod on bass in Feb 2009.We are currently finishing off writing new material that will FINALLY! be recorded in the summer.
So TONEfest then. Hitcher opened proceedings with a fine line in Pelican-esque dynamics and some haunting soundscapes. Infinitely better than I remember them being, they definitely appear to be on track to becoming one of Edinburgh's shining lights as far as atmospheric metal goes. It felt like getting kicked in the stomach when the bass kicked in.
Thanks to James from Sheilds Up for the write-up.
We have T-Shirts available in the design below: They come in Black or Navy in S, M, L and XL, and cost Only £7.00.
