Consistency Is The Key

It's the will of the man, not the skill of the man. - Jake Shuttlesworth

About Me

When I was young, my Dad always tried to instill the best possible values in me. Since we didn't have much family tradition at the time, we decided to start some on our own. He adopted the credo, "Never give up." And since then I've tried to live up to that standard. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Jr., and I'm a 23 year old born and raised on the south side of Colorado Springs. I'm Korean, White, and American Indian, all of which I am very proud to be. I guess you could say I'm coming into my own at this point, kinda realizing what it is that the world is really about, attempting to stay as drama free as possible, while living life to the fullest. I'm a simple man...a straight shooter, born a smart ass, I'll die a smart ass, so if that's something you have a hard time dealing with, you might wanna move on to the next one. I love my family very much, and even though I do things on a regular basis that may piss them off, trust me I'm trying. (See blog: Him and I.) I'm interested in almost anything you can think of: music, sports, art, education, just life in general. I've come to realize that there is so much more that I have yet to accomplish or even try, that I'm open to pretty much anything. I think my versatility, understanding, and ability to think outside of the box have to be some of my stronger attributes. I value loyalty and honesty to the fullest because the longer I live my life the more I realize it's hard to find. I feel as if I have a very strong relationship with the Lord, and even though you probably won't find me in church every Sunday, in no way do I feel distanced from him. He leads me to believe that no matter how hard some of us may think we have it, we're here...we're breathing, and that in itself is a blessing. (In case you're wondering where the S.C.W.H.F. comes from, its an acronym for the: Strength.Courage.Wisdom.Heart.&Faith. I ask for from him on a daily basis.) I'm pretty easy going, and try not to take myself too seriously. I've been told that I'm over-analytical, but f*!%#@ it, I've been that way for this long, probably isn't going to change anytime soon, right? I love to laugh and take time out of the day to just sit there, look around, take a deep breath and realize how good it is that I really do have it. Not in an arrogant way, but in appreciation. Feel free to have a look around, this is me in a nutshell, but realize at the same time there is so much more to what it is I have to offer. My Interests

Everything. I wanna know a little something about anything and everything. How else will I figure out whether or not I like it? The things I do know a little about are: Duke basketball, the Dallas Cowboys, 14 straight division title winning Atlanta Braves, football from THA U., and sports, sports, sports...did I mention that I know a little about sports? I'm interested in knowing why hot dogs come in packages of 8, and buns in packages of 6. I'm interested in knowing if people who don't have eyebrows can still look surprised? I'm interested in knowing if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound? If you know the answers to these questions please feel free to fill me in.

I'd like to meet:

Jesus (for all the obvious reasons); my Grandparents (I've only met my one Grandmother on very few occasions); Michael Jordan (thee greatest of all time); Albert Einstein (how interesting would that be?); Natalie Portman (my wife); Greg Maddux (16 Gold Gloves & 4 Cy Young's?); Christopher Wallace ("Hunnies play me close like butter plays toast, all the way from the Mississippi down to the East Coast..." come on now, the man was a genius); Kobe Bryant (relentless, the greatest player in the World); Heather Brooke (wifey #2, if you don't know about this woman, please do some research); David Letterman (when this man leaves the Earth it will be a sad, sad day); Phil Jackson (triangle offense, need I say more?); Steven Spielberg (imagine what goes on in this guy's head); David Chappelle (lol imagine what goes on in this guy's head); Denzel Washington (a.k.a. Jake Shuttlesworth); Tupac Shakur (Thug Poet); Coach K. (w/o him there are no Cameron Crazies); Marshall Mathers (ultimate underdog), Jerry Rice (thee greatest of all time); George Lucas (the definition of imagination); Larry Bird ("The Hick From French Lick"); Dick Vitale (who wouldn't want to meet Dickie V.?)

Music:

I'm a lover of all music, new and old, fast and slow, hip-hop to country. Here's a bit of what I find myself listening to: Weezy F. Baby (please say the Baby), Jaime Foxx, Swisha House, Fall Out Boy (big up to you Sherm), 112, Jodeci, Pac, B.I.G., Greenday, Nas, Jay, Justin Timberlake, Mr. West, TI, finding myself liking Gym Class Heroes more and more(another big up to Sherm), Shai, DJ Drama (Gangsta Grillz you bastards), DMX, Dr. Dre, Em, Luda, Mariah, and many many more. Like they said you can take a kid out of the ghetto but can't take the ghetto out of the kid; I'll love hip-hop till the day I die, but I find myself 'growing up' when it comes to my taste in music, trying to open myself up a little bit.

Movies:

I'm a sucker for a history or sports movie. Here's a few of my faves: Belly, He Got Game, Braveheart, Wayne's World I&II, Men of Honor, Man On Fire, Ace Ventura I&II, City of God, Armageddon, Scarface, 8 Mile, Star Wars I-VI, the entire Bond Collection (who doesn't like 007?), any Marvel movie, Remember the Titans, Saving Private Ryan, Pearl Harbor, Ali, Gladiator, King Arthur, Tombstone, Dumb and Dumber, and almost any movie that stars Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, and Owen Wilson; that slap-stick, dumbass, frat boy humor has a special place in my heart I tell ya. These are just a few of the many I love...

Television:

I don't watch much tv, but when I do it's usually at 7:00 in the morning or at 9:00 at night; you know what I'm talking about...DA-DA DUNT, DA-DA DUNT! SportSCenter...I tell ya, probably one of the greatest shows ever televised in the history of man. Other than that you probably won't see me in front of the tv much unless a game is on.

Books:

Intro. to Business, Business Communication, oh yeah and my personal favorite Western Civilization. The only things I find myself reading much anymore are text books. Even though I love to read, if it's not studying I'm doing, the only thing you'll really catch me reading is Maxim, Men's Health, SLAM, or ESPN the Mag.

Heroes:

My Mother and Father, hands down. I have never seen two harder working people in my entire life. I think my Dad has about 6,898 hours of PTO and sick time built up, while my Mom never stops moving. I am truly blessed to have them in my life, no matter what it is I do, they continue to love me as much as the day I came into this world. They are the definition of unconditional love. Come December they will have been married for 30 years, which amazes me in this day and age, you'll never meet two better people than my parents.
