Born in East London, Ed first got into dance music by listening to pirate radio in the late 80s, with his curious mind and interest in electronics Ed needed to know how all those interesting new sounds were made.
In 1994 he got himself on a Youth Training Scheme to do a sound engineering course, this was just before the computer revolution so he spent most of his time cutting up reel to reel tape with razor blades ! During this time, Shy FX (who was on the same course) had a top 40 hit with "Original Nutter" on SOUR records , which inspired Ed further into production.
A year later he managed to get a work placement as an assistant at the SOUR studios .Within six months he was mixing down tracks for artist's such as Black Twang, DJ Trace, Roots Manuva, Elizabeth Troy, DJ Swift, MC Det and many others, this gave him a broad view of the production technique's of the time.
Ed's first release was "125th Street" and "The Danger" , co produced with label boss Dave Stone, the pair went under the name "Click and Cycle" and the tune became the second biggest seller on Emotive records (SOUR's sister label).
In 1997 Ed moved to brighton and set up a studio with Dave Stone. He continued to make tunes and improve his production skills, while dave concentrated more on promoting club nights. Around this time, Ed Hooked up with DJ Brockie, who he met though MC Det. Brockie had just bought a reasonalble sized studio and needed help using it all. The first time Ed went to Brockies, the pair made "Reprasent" , Undiluted's first release, which made number 1 on all the DnB chart's. Ed and Brockie got on well and continued to make more big tunes, such as "Turntable 1" "Echo Box" (True Playaz) & "System Check".
On the DJing side of things Ed first learned to mix in 2001 and has played at nights such as Movement, Meltdown, Knights of the MC's, Valve, and in many other countries including Bulgaria, Germany, Romania, France, Australia and Serbia, playing many different flavours of DnB and Breaks in his own particular style.
In the past 5 years Ed has become more involved in the Nu Skool Breaks scene , his studio was located above Krafty Kut's old record shop in brighton so he started to engineer some of kraftys tunes, and later the pair began co-producing music together (check out Krafty Kut's new Album
"Freakshow"). Within Break's Ed has also collaborated with people such as Deekline, Darrison, Skool of Thought as well as mixing down tunes for Freq Nasty, Splitloop and other big names in the breaks scene.
More recently Ed has been involved in Undiluted's latest Album project "PURE" which include's the dancefloor smasher's "Aim'd at You" and "Fruit X". He is also working on an Album project with Skool of Thought, entitled "Random Acts of Kindness" on the Supercharged Label. The Album will be of a more organic, musical nature , the first single "When i was a Yout" has been getting airplay from Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe, Tayo & More, while the second single "Luv your Life" feat MC Darrison is set to make big waves.
Ed continues to move forward and is always improving his skills in the studio and behind
the deck's as he spreads his sound across the globe.
