About Me

G studied orchestral percussion and music theory at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City and was a member of Dance Theatre of Harlem's professional percussion ensemble, touring with the dance company. Her dreams of playing timpani with the New York Philharmonic were put aside when she joined her best friend's punk rock band, Steaming Vomit-- then it became all about "loud, fast rules!" While living in Dallas, she played in and recorded with a number of bands including Paper Dolls, The Howling Dervishes, Model 12, Lithium X-Mas, Watusi, Tomi D & the Tropical Konnection, and Debutante. She has backed regional artists Alison Rogers, Siri Lini, and Laurel. Other past bands include: Blu Ruin (Los Angeles), The Darcys (Los Angeles), Saucerhead (Houston), Cold Fusion (Houston), and Angels & Outlaws (Houston). Currently, G is playing occasional gigs with Fluff the Kat, and laying down some beats for some awesome local songwriters.

Band Members: G- a single-kick drummer available for hire on studio projects and fill-in gigs-- or that full-time offer that can't be refused. Can play rock, pop, dance/disco, funk, reggae/ska, African socca, classical... even country. Sings backup.
Influences: My own gut instincts, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Stewart Copeland, Terry Bozzio, B-52's, AC/DC, Prince, Jane's Addiction, old school punk, dance/pop, techno, George Ballanchine (so much rhythm in his choreography), the amazing musicians I grew up with and the ones I've heard just passing on through.
Sounds Like: I listen to those playing around me, rather than just playing whatever

My Song List
