My name is Kenny Grimsley. I grew up in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, but currently reside in sunny Portland, Maine.....
I have been a professional musician for the last 25 years, and have the best job in the world! I got my start at the tender age of 15 playing the military base circuit in San Antonio, Texas - and haven't looked back since. I perform an average of 3-5 nights a week, but also enjoy carpentry work, boating and fishing as hobbies and sometime occupations. I am always available for club gigs or private parties... as a soloist, acoustic duo, or full band.........
I play electric lead, slide, 6 and 12 string acoustic guitar, as well as bass guitar, mandolin, dulcimer, and ukulele..........I currently eke out a living doing mostly solo and duo gigs, but supplement my musical income working as a session player and music instructor. If you ever get a chance to see the KGB Band, you will not be disappointed!....... In addition to music, I have worked as a (deep breath!), carpenter, roofer, pipe fitter, mechanic, boat detailer, demolitionist, short order cook, commercial fisherman and horse trainer.......
I enjoy good food, good wine, good music, and good people...though not necessarily in that order!.......
Besides being with my children, my greatest joy in life comes from going out on the ocean and making people smile.... On a good day, I can actually do all 3 at the same time...and this is the closest to Heaven I can think of!......
