About Me

I was born in England May 10th 1957, soon after my birth my father left us and me and my mother moved out to Ibiza, I was just 3 at the time. My mother sold marijuana to bring in money and to support her own heroin habit. I spent most of my early years being babysat by my mothers friends, it was an unconventional upbringing to say the least and it is said that I learnt to swear very loudly in Spanish! We moved back to London, England in 1965 when I was 8, due to financial troubles, I grew up there in an East London flat.
Into my teen years I dropped out of highschool at aged 15 and developed a love for music. I attended Hackney College on a vocational photography course and it was around this time that I met John Lyndon( AKA Johnny Rotten) he gave me the nickname SID VICIOUS. Soon after, we both left college and in 1976 Johnny joined the SEX PISTOLS. With: Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock, Johnny was the lead singer. I was not the original bass player to the sex pistols, Glen Matlock the original bassist was fired and I was recruited because of my "fiery, unpredictable personality and dark good looks" to join the Sex Pistols, a band CREATED TO EXPLOIT THE DISAFFECTED YOUTH OF LONDON. I learned to play bass for the band and learned the songs in no time atall. I was only 19 when the Sex Pistols made it in the music industry in 1977 with songs like 'Anarchy in the U.K.'. 'God Save the Queen' made number one on the charts despite being censored. Soon after this, I met a young american groupie at a friend flat. She had come to London with The Heartbreakers. Nancy Laura Spungen. We fell in love and became in seperable, we were soul mates and I knew straight away that I couldn't ever love any body else... We did a lot of heroin together and a lot of people blamed Nancy for getting me on to it, but in reality I had been smoking pot and doing speed for about a year before I even met her.
When the Sex Pistols went on the infamous AMERICAN TOUR the rest of the band said Nancy was not allowed to go, and I had to leave her for tour. As everyone knows the tour was a disaster and the band split up. The music fell apart and lost its meaning. I came back to England to be with Nancy where we fell more in love, and more into heroin than ever before. After two months in England we moved to Paris together and worked on the movie THE GREAT ROCK N ROLL SWINDLE, soon, we made our final move to NEW YORK where we moved into Room 100 of the Chelsea Hotel. Around this time Nancy became increasingly depressed and repeatedly told me how she wanted to die and how she would never become anything, then on October 11th 1978 Nancy was found dead in our room from a stab wound in her abdomen having bled to death. I could not remember anything of what happend that night, I was charged with her murder and finally let out on $50,000 bail.On February 2st 1970 my mum flew to Manhattan where I was living so that she could try and take care of me, scared that I was going to be arrested buying drugs she bought me a supply good of heroin and was there when I injected it, the next day I was found dead and no one knows if it was suicide or not. But I died with only one wish which was to be buried with NANCY and her mother refused this wish, so late one night my mum climbed over the cemetery wall where Nancy is buried and sprinkled my ashes on her snow covered grave.
