Growing up in his native country of Peru, CHINO was exposed to various types of music early on in life. He started with the tribal sounds and twisted moves of the Afro-Peruvian music, and then moved on to the Latin percussions of the local salsa and meringue sound. Next, he found his way into New Wave and Industrial beats of the Euro 80’s music. All of this exposure to multicolor sounds created a thirst to listen and learn more.
In the 90’s CHINO moved to the United States to pursue his dream to enter the night club industry. By the end of the decade he was one of the driving forces of the Tampa/ Ybor City club scene. CHINO was running the La Cueva Club 5 nights a week, while promoting International Nights as well as Latin nights all over town. With the change of the century CHINO’S true calling came and by the end of the year 2000 he was the resident DJ at Terra Lounge, playing House Music exclusively.
After that he moved around several clubs holding resindecies in the best clubs and continued building the House music scene in Tampa.
