About Me

My name is Brian Llapitan, and I'm old school through and through. I was the singer for NME (Unholy Death is the album I was on), was also with The Pleasure Elite in 2007, and am now working with my new band Bastard Child. Keep the projects coming, i'm ready for it all, so bring it!

My Interests

Music (making and listening to), films and filmmaking, cooking, road trips to off the map kind of places, garage sale and thrift store shopping, pets, and some other sordid activities.

I'd like to meet:

Who knows? Other than that, cool people to hang with into indy film, metal, new musicians to play with, social drinkers and foodies, cool girlies to frolic with, filmmakers to work with, thrift store shopping, whatever.

Music:

Motorhead, Venom, Go Like Hell, Psychobilly, Celtic Frost, The Braindead, Halford, punk, blues, Poe, Garbage, foreign music, soundtracks, Social Distortion, The Pleasure Elite, Bob Wayne, and more.

Movies:

Love indy and foreign films! Run Lola Run, Sideways, Amelie, Boys and a Girl From County Clare, The Professional, 70's horror, Argento, Bava, documentaries, anything with a pulse.

Television:

Finally dumped my cable, so now I just watch my TV DVDs, and millions of other DVDs I have yet to watch.

Books:

Mostly non fiction. Peter Mayle Provence books are the best for me, and they make me want to visit France very much. The Elfin Ship for fantasy, old Stephen King or Clive Barker for horror.

Heroes:

God (just kidding, i'm not religious), my Dad, my friend Kurt, Burt Munroe, Bruce Lee, Rob Halford, Lemmy, Dario Argento, Luvleggs, V Blasto, Elvis Christ, Robert Rodriquez, Quentin Tarantino, Becka, Yasuyuki. Not so much heroes, as people I look up to for their drive and determination. A few for just being good people, and teaching me a few things.

A "real" NME interview. And the only one.

Here was an interview/rant from us lovelies in NME, done back in October 2004, right before the Halloween show at Hell's Kitchen. It is indeed real, and fucked up, cuz that's how we roll! NME's Unholy...

Secret History of NME

Has been or never was?

I was just thinking about my tiny musical career thus far, and wondered which is better, to be a has been or a never was. In the years since Unholy Death came out, I find it great that so many bands h...
